Mammoth Acquires Noble In Trade With Knighthawks

The Colorado Mammoth and Rochester Knighthawks have announced a trade with the Mammoth acquiring rookie forward Jeremy Noble along with a third-round selection in the 2017 NLL Draft from the Knighthawks in exchange for Colorado’s first-round selections in both 2016 and 2017 and a third-round selection in 2015.

Noble, the second overall selection in the 2014 NLL Draft, lives in Denver. The right-hander was a three-time All-America selection at the University of Denver and was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year in 2014. He set a Pioneer record as a senior, averaging 1.89 assists per game. Last summer, Noble was the offensive leader of Team Canada when it won the gold medal at the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Championships.

“Jeremy has all the tools you look for,” said Colorado president and general manager Steve Govett. “Not only is he a solid lacrosse player; he’s a tremendous leader, and one who embraces the role. I couldn’t be more excited for his Mammoth debut on Sunday against the Swarm.”

Noble, whose twin brother, Jason, plays for Minnesota, grew up with Colorado goaltender Dillon Ward. Jeremy has yet to play in the NLL.

With the acquisition, the Mammoth now has three of the first seven players selected in this past year’s draft. Forward Eli McLaughlin was the fourth-overall selection. Defenseman Robert Hope was taken three picks later.

Rochester now has three first-round picks in the 2016 and 2017 drafts. By obtaining the third rounder in 2015, Rochester also adds another pick in one of the deepest drafts in recent memory.
