Roughnecks’ Evans Wins Pinty’S Wingman For Week 14

The National Lacrosse League has announced Calgary Roughnecks forward Shawn Evans as the Pinty’s Wingman of the Week award winner for Week 14 of the 2015 NLL regular season, marking the second time Evans has won the award in the last five weeks.

Evans, ranked first in the NLL in points (105), second in assists (69) and tied for fourth in goals (36), posted a combined 16 points (3+13) in Calgary’s doubleheader weekend split with Colorado, including a game-high 12 points (3+9) in the team’s 14-9 home win on Saturday.

The 2013 NLL MVP, Evans is averaging 7.5 points per game and is on pace for 135 points this year, which would shatter the NLL single-season record of 116 points set in 2012 by John Grant, Jr. (16-game season). The Peterborough, Ontario native played collegiately at Bellarmine University and was the second overall pick in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft.

Pinty’s is an official partner for the NLL on TSN during the 2015 season. Each week, an NLL player will receive the “Pinty’s Wingman of the Week” award based on their performance with respect to passing prowess and playmaking abilities. The weekly award winners will be entered into the pool of finalists for the “Pinty’s Wingman of the Year” award at the end of the season.
