Calgary, AB – Despite Dane Dobbie registering his 600th career point with a first-quarter goal, the Calgary Roughnecks came up short at the Scotiabank Saddledome by a score of 15-11 versus the Saskatchewan Rush on Saturday night.

Calgary fell to 1-2 on home turf as the two-time defending NLL champion Rush were led by Robert Church and Ben McIntosh with six points apiece.

The Riggers headed into halftime with an 8-7 lead but suffered through a stretch of 22:33 without finding the back of the net, which included a scoreless third quarter. It was the first time since January 3, 2015, against the Vancouver Stealth that the Roughnecks were held off the scoreboard for an entire quarter.

Roughnecks forward Curtis Dickson tallied three goals and four assists while Wesley Berg also had a seven-point effort with one goal and six helpers. Dobbie went on to add two more goals to complete the hat-trick and Tyler Digby (2), Holden Cattoni and Jeff Shattler rounded out the scoring for Calgary.

Week 7 of the 2017 NLL campaign sees the Roughnecks (3-2) play game three of a four-game homestand when the Toronto Rock (3-1) visit the Scotiabank Saddledome on Sunday, Feb. 12, for Family Fun Day.  The 2:00 p.m. matinee is highlighted by face painters, balloon artists and a halftime presentation featuring youth dancers from the Drill Bits program.
