Roughnecks Sign Pollock

The Calgary Roughnecks have announced the team has signed forward Sean Pollock to a one-year contract, pending league approval.

“Sean is a proven player in the NLL,” said Roughnecks general manager Mike Board. “He provides us with scoring, grit and character. He works hard with and without the ball. Our coaching staff has always liked the way he plays the game and we are excited to add him to our roster.”

Pollock, a native of Wallaceburg, Ontario, began the season with the Colorado Mammoth where he recorded nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points over nine games. The 12-year NLL veteran has recorded 524 career points (207 goals, 317 assists) along with 250 penalty minutes in 168 games played including most recently in Colorado and Minnesota.

After winning the West Division and pushing Rochester to the brink in the Champion’s Cup Finals, Calgary has struggled this year with a 2-8 record through the first 11 weeks of the season. Pollock will join the likes of Shawn Evans, Curtis Dickson, Dane Dobbie and Jeff Shattler as the team plays four of its next five games at home starting on Friday night against New England.
