Roughnecks To Host Rush For Preseason ‘Battle Of Alberta’

Calgary takes on rival Edmonton for exhibition at the ‘Dome on Dec. 20

With training camps ramping up as the 2015 NLL season nears closer, the Calgary Roughnecks will host the Edmonton Rush for a preseason “Battle of Alberta” matchup at Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 9 p.m. ET.

“We are thrilled to host a lacrosse-filled weekend that will give our loyal fans the opportunity to get an early glimpse at the 2015 Roughnecks roster,” said Roughnecks general manager Mike Board.  “As we prepare for the season, we will use the showcase weekend to thank our fans for their growing support and provide new fans with the chance to join the party and experience the vibrant atmosphere at the ’Dome during a Roughnecks game.”

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. MT.  For only $10 (plus applicable fees), fans can purchase a reserved, lower bowl seat to Come for the Party & Stay for the Game at all Ticketmaster locations and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office. Order online at www.ticketmaster.ca or by phone at 1-855-985-5000.

Edmonton’s final training camp weekend will see the team practice at Rexall Place on Thursday, December 18 before heading to Calgary for the exhibition.

“Finishing camp on Crystal Glass Field and the exhibition game in Calgary will be great for our team,” said Rush general manager and head coach Derek Keenan. “Practicing on Crystal Glass Field gives us the chance to put the finishing touches on in an NLL arena and that’s important in terms of pre-season prep.  And there’s no better way to finish up training camp than to get an early jump on the Battle of Alberta!”

In addition to the Battle of Alberta exhibition game, the Roughnecks Showcase Weekend includes a Select-a-Seat event, giving fans the chance to choose from the best available seat locations for the 2015 NLL season, and Train Like A Pro workshops, providing over 100 minor lacrosse players with the opportunity to get on the turf to practice their lacrosse skills and interact with the Roughnecks players.

Both events will be held on Sunday, Dec. 21 at the Scotiabank Saddledome, with further details to be released later this month on www.calgaryroughnecks.com.
