The Stealth (2-12) host the Calgary Roughnecks (5-8) on Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre and Vancouver knows that to kee p their slim post-season hopes alive, they have to win.A loss would guarantee the Roughnecks the NLL West Division’s third and final playoff berth. But a Stealth victory would keep Vancouver’s faint hopes alive as they need to win out and hope Calgary goes winless over that span.
Vancouver is coming off an impressive 13-12 win in Denver of a Colorado Mammoth team which had won six straight.
The Stealth had a great start to the game, scoring the first four goals. Colorado would recover and the teams entered the half knotted at seven.
Each team scored twice in the third quarter but the Mammoth forged ahead 12-10 with half a quarter to play. But goals from Tony Malcom and Joel McCready 30 seconds apart evened the score before Pat Saunders scored the winner with just under two minutes to play.
