In the 2022-2023 season, Van Schepen played in 16 games, contributing one goal and four assists. The following season, he transitioned to a defensive role, appearing in 14 games where he recorded one goal, three assists, 38 loose balls, seven caused turnovers, and six blocked shots.

Van Schepen had an accomplished collegiate career, serving as a team captain and earning multiple academic honors. He was selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team and was drafted 10th overall in the first round by the Calgary Roughnecks.
