In the 2022-2023 season, Van Schepen played in 16 games, contributing one goal and four assists. The following season, he transitioned to a defensive role, appearing in 14 games where he recorded one goal, three assists, 38 loose balls, seven caused turnovers, and six blocked shots.

Van Schepen had an accomplished collegiate career, serving as a team captain and earning multiple academic honors. He was selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team and was drafted 10th overall in the first round by the Calgary Roughnecks. Over 14 games, he made 13 starts, scoring four goals and tallying 17 assists while collecting 13 ground balls and causing three turnovers.

In his junior year in 2021, he played in eight games, making five starts, and recorded three goals and two assists for five points. He attempted 14 shots while collecting 11 ground balls and causing two turnovers. The previous season, as a sophomore in 2020, he played in five games with three starts, scoring two goals and adding two assists for four total points. He attempted 11 shots, with seven on goal, and collected 11 ground balls while causing four turnovers.

As a freshman in 2019, he appeared in all 13 games for the Saints, recording four goals and 11 assists for 15 points. He took 15 shots, landing nine on goal, and picked up 11 ground balls while causing four turnovers. During the season, he had a three-game streak with multiple points and recorded a season-high three-point game with a goal and two assists against St. Bonaventure.
